Obedience must be one of the
characteristics of members of the Voluntas Dei Institute.
The explanation of their whole life is obedience grounded in
faith and availability to all that is asked by legitimate
authority in view of the greater good of the Church.
By this spirit of obedience, members 'shall endeavor to
witness to everyone that they are happy to do God's Will as
manifested in everyday life, without installing themselves
comfortably in their own choices.

Obedience:
- making one's own the project of Jesus Christ;
- making one's own the projects of the universal and local
Churches;
- making one's own the projects of the Institute;
- making one's own the projects of one’s District;
- making one's own the projects of one’s Team;
- finally, Christianizing one’s many small personal
projects.
If knowing how to obey is important, it must be done in
fidelity to our Institute's vocation. Such an understanding
of obedience liberates the individual, at the rhythm of
commitment.
'While safeguarding his/her
commitments, Christian witness and mode of belonging to the
Institute, the married person chooses his/her own work.
- Before any decision
regarding a new orientation and/or employment, clerics and
celibate laymen shall consult with their respective team
animators and get the written consent of the District
Director who shall follow the policy set down by the
District Council.
Members will likewise obtain the written authorization of
the local Bishop before engaging in any kind of pastoral
work within a given diocese. In this manner, communion with
the local and the universal Churches shall be fostered.
